In the United Kingdom, as in many locations around the world, homelessness has seen a startling rise over the past few years. The amount of people living rough is expected to have risen by thousands year on year, and resources in local areas are strained. Crisis has been one of the leading homeless charities in the UK since 1967, and continues to work directly with those suffering to help rebuild their lives. Crisis' primary goal is to end homelessness entirely, a goal that Freedom is proud to support this year.

Les Restaurants du Cœur is one of the most notable charities in all of France, having been in operation for thirty five years. The main activity of the charity is to provide food packages and hot meals to the needy, encompassing homeless people as well as households with low or no income. Having grown past this initial vision, Restaurants du Coeur now also helps people find housing and supports other projects related to vulnerable people in positions of need. The charity continues to be a staple of helping those in need in France.

Environmentalism has been at the centre of a huge global discussion over the past year more so than ever, and for good reason. As the climate change crisis rages on, we at Freedom cannot ignore the impact that the logistics of a large music festival like ours has on the environment. As a response, we are tackling this in different forms. One of our main initiatives is partnering with the inspiring organisation One Tree Planted, who have planted millions of trees thanks to donations - one dollar to one tree planted. Freedom Festival are pledging to have two trees planted for every single ticket sold, with our goal to plant 1.2 million trees through ticket sales of Freedom Festival in London and Paris this March.

Stonewall has been an important part of the LGBTQ+ community in the United Kingdom since it was founded over thirty years ago. Named after the New York Stonewall riots, the charity has been empowering lesbian gay, bisexual, transgender and queer individuals for years, doing important work in communities and institutions. Perhaps even more important is their work over the years to campaign for laws that protect the LGBTQ+ community in the ongoing fight for equality.

The French branch of the Red Cross was founded in 1864, and since then has worked alongside government and public authorities to provide humanitarian aid. The Red Cross in France has around 18,000 employees and almost 60,000 volunteers to provide humanitarian, health, social, welfare and training services. The Red Cross is also on hand for emergency response in situations that call for urgent assistance, making them one of the key players in French society. Freedom are proud to support their unwavering charitable principles this year.

Mind is one of the oldest mental health charities, being founded in 1946 in London. For over seventy years, Mind have been transforming the lives of those suffering from mental health issues in the UK for the better. Mind offers information and advice to those suffering, raises public awareness and understanding of mental health issues and lobbies for changes with government and local authorities to protect those suffering and ensure care and support is available for all.
